Any other time, I would give them a 5. I have been here with my granddaughter since 6:30 pm it's now 9:02 pm there was only 2 people in front of us. Now the waiting area is pack. I don't want to give them a one star, tonight.
My infant was brought here for a head injury. The doctor initially denied that the baby even had a bump on his head, laughing as though I was being dramatic, and then after noting its slight existence, said it was nothing to worry about and suggested Tylenol if my infant was fussy.
This place sucks. My wife couldn't breathe and we waited 10 minutes and nothing. Had other bad experiences here. Went to Christiana in Middletown and was seen in 2 minutes. Much better care. Avoid Bay Health at all costs. It's worth a drive to avoid this place.
Bottom line, this place is just another money maker for Bayhealth. They don't really care if you get worse or better as long as you pay the bill. Such was the case with me. I can't speak for others but I have no doubt this has happened many times before in this facility.
After confronting the doctor and being adamant about getting proper care, the patient was finally transferred to a local hospital where it was found there was a major issue and necessary to keep the patient for several days. So there you have it.
Obviously, Bayhealth was a huge letdown where it counts the most. I will never subject myself or my loved ones to their care again.
Didn't care for the place. One will get better results from a first aid kit. Ask the doctor what the problem is and he tells me what he THINKS it is then prescribed pain killers without knowing what he's treating you for. Never once looked at the injury, just felt the area and made a guess. RN staff is, for the most part, helpful.. The doctor does not like to be questioned or challenged on his opinion. I don't need an opinion, I need to know exactly what the problem is. If he can't figure out what the problem is send the patient someplace where they can figure out what the problem is instead of telling you to go home and suffer a couple more days, take lots of painkillers, then make your own phone calls to try to get proper treatment. The doctor was quick to discharge a patient who was obviously in severe pain and not able to walk or get off the bed. However a staff member had no problem coming in the room asking for a $120 copay.
The woman working at reception acts like someone just kicked her puppy. Smile! Greet people! You're the first face these sick or injured people see when entering the building! If you're unhappy with your job, go somewhere else. I'm also unhappy with the attitude i got when i asked what the estimated wait time was. I was dropped off, and needed to let my ride know roughly how long to expect to wait to come back. I was triaged however, and the nurse was able to tell me 2 and a half hours. Sad that the angry receptionist didnt have that info. After sitting there for 40 minutes, and seeing exactly 1 patient out of the 4 ahead of me, get taken back, i decided I'd rather suffer at home, alone.
Four days later, I was growing concerned as nothing was improving about my baby's state. Nemours Children's Hospital in Wilmington was recommended to me by a colleague. I took my baby there and within an hour, I learned that my baby was suffering from a skull fracture and then some.
